REA Analytics is helping rural energy providers pursue USDA PART funding, with loans ranging from $1 million to $100 million and up to 40% loan forgiveness available. The program funds rural renewable energy, storage, infrastructure and grid reliability projects. REA offers free funding assistance to help organizations prepare strong letters of intent by the Oct. 9, 2026, deadline.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — REA Analytics provides free application assistance to rural energy providers pursuing USDA Powering Affordable Reliable Technology (PART) Program funding. Letters of Interest (LOIs) are due Oct. 9, 2026, for this significant financing opportunity for rural renewable energy and electric infrastructure projects.
PART provides financing from $1 million to $100 million, with up to 40% loan forgiveness potentially available for qualifying projects. The program supports projects that generate or store electricity from renewable energy resources, including hydropower, geothermal and biomass. Funding can also support energy storage, transmission and distribution facilities, microgrids, transformers, interconnection costs and other infrastructure needed to deliver power.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants include certified electric utilities, electric cooperatives, federally recognized Tribes, Alaska Native corporations, for-profit organizations, nonprofit organizations and state or local governments.
At least 50% of the project’s service area must be rural, although USDA allows certain exceptions based on factors such as energy burden and economic need.
How PART Funding Works
PART is structured as loan financing rather than a traditional grant. Project loans may finance eligible project costs, and certain projects may qualify for loan forgiveness.
Awards range from $1 million to $100 million. The program has approximately $410 million available through Sept. 30, 2031.
Applicants begin with a Letter of Interest. Organizations that receive an Invitation to Proceed will then have 60 days, or another period agreed to by USDA, to submit a complete loan application.
