About REA Analytics

REA Analytics was founded on the idea that data analysis and program evaluation can and should maximize program impact for nonprofit organizations and local government entities, ultimately benefiting the populations they serve.

Dr. Fred De Jong, REA’s founder, started the company in 2010 as Research and Evauation Associates. REA was a continuation of his previous work as a Senior Research Consultant at Grand Valley State University. His goal was to use his extensive academic and professional experience in grant writing, project development and statistical analysis to enhance service delivery effectiveness to disproportionately affected groups, with a focus in health, human services, and criminal justice systems.

A long-time employee of REA, Dr. William Medendorp, transitioned to lead the organization in 2019.

Under Dr. Medendorp's leadership, REA focuses on using their skills in measurement, research design, statistical modeling, data analysis & visualization to provide a deep understanding of the impact of the programs they evaluate.

“Our goal is to help our partners excel in pursuing the things they care about. We help them to effectively measure and track the right data for their success, and we walk with them throughout that process.”

Growth of the business has also allowed REA to branch into new areas of service and expand their network of partnership organizations, but the mission and vision of the organization remains the same.

Vision: To turn data into insights that create better, more equitable and just communities, provide opportunities, and reduce disparities.

Mission: To use our expertise in data analysis and program evaluation to not only help our partner organizations successfully secure grant funding, but to help them more effectively deliver the services they provide to the populations they serve.
